CASTELMARTE – “One question only: why?” The mayor of Castelmarte, Elvio Colombo, addresses the authors of the abandonment of furniture and construction waste discovered days ago in the woods around the town, towards Canzo. Among the plants, the remains of furniture, rubble, bricks, and much more have been left behind, coming from renovation works.
“Unfortunately, this is not the first time,” comments the bitter mayor, “there is also a group of precious volunteers who periodically clean up, but these waste items are heavy, they require a truck to move them, and currently, due to the holiday period, the municipality’s trucks are not available, and we will have to find another solution. It is not fair, the rudeness and incivility of people have no limits anymore.”
It will be difficult to trace the authors of this abandonment: “We have some motion-activated cameras that we move to various areas to monitor this hateful phenomenon, but not in that particular spot. We will mobilize as soon as possible to remove what has been left behind, hoping to never have to see such a mess again,” concludes the mayor.
