SARONNO – “Why doesn’t the Municipality intervene?” This is the question that the reporter hears at the municipal park in via Biffi. For months now, users – mothers and grandparents who bring their children and grandchildren – have reported the problems that occur in the green area, but without any response. Nothing has changed over time.
Children at risk
A visit to the green space, which is just a stone’s throw away from the Pizzigoni elementary school and close to houses and condominiums in the Regina Pacis area, confirms that all the problems previously identified are still present. The plexiglass of the skate park is damaged, some portions are missing, others have fallen to the ground, others are abandoned in a corner. It is evident that there is a risk that children could get hurt while playing. The same goes for the concrete platform, there are damaged steps, no fences or railings. Next to it, there is a cabin (possibly electric) with a broken door, so anyone can put their hands inside. There is dirt around, graffiti on the walls, and broken glass.

Last summer, the deputy mayor of the nearby Ceriano Laghetto, Dante Cattaneo, responded to the “call” of some parents and went to the site for an inspection. He also asked the Municipality of Saronno to intervene and made a video about the degradation of the park, which went viral on TikTok.
