Sanctions for a total of about 11,000 euros and administrative seizure of 2 kilograms of molasses and tobacco, intended to be smoked with hookahs. This is the result of a verification carried out in recent days by the Carabinieri of the Desio Company together with colleagues from the NAS of Milan and personnel from the Anti-Fraud Group of the Customs and Monopolies Agency of Milan at some commercial premises in the area equipped with hookahs where alleged “various irregularities” were found, say the Armed Forces.
In particular, “inside a private club” it would have been found: “the absence of the required authorization through a license for the sale of molasses for hookahs, also noting that the tobacco and the same molasses found in the premises’ warehouses were lacking state references or stamps”. Furthermore: “The premises also lacked the fiscal license issued by the Customs Office for the serving of alcoholic beverages and did not comply with the required hygiene and health regulations”.
Also, within the scope of the checks, drugs were found and seized, specifies the Armed Forces: “against unknown individuals, a total of 6 grams of drugs, three of cocaine and three of hashish”. “Considering the detected infractions, the competent authorities have been informed for the withdrawal and evaluation of the license”.
The operation, carried out by the Carabinieri in collaboration with the NAS and the Anti-Fraud Group of the Customs and Monopolies Agency, aims to combat illegal activities and ensure compliance with regulations in commercial premises equipped with hookahs. The sale and consumption of tobacco and molasses for hookahs must be regulated and authorized, as well as complying with hygiene and health regulations.
The Carabinieri’s efforts to combat illegal activities and protect public health are commendable. It is important to ensure that businesses comply with the necessary authorizations and regulations to guarantee the safety and well-being of customers. By pooling their resources and expertise, they can effectively identify and address irregularities and illegal activities in commercial premises. This joint effort sends a strong message that illegal activities will not be tolerated and that those responsible will face appropriate sanctions.
It is crucial for businesses that operate with hookahs to be aware of and comply with all regulations and authorizations. This includes obtaining the necessary licenses, ensuring the quality and safety of products, and maintaining proper hygiene and health standards. By doing so, businesses can avoid legal issues and contribute to a safe and regulated environment for their customers.
