Alberto Genovese, 46 years old, is a prisoner at San Vittore Milan, September 29, 2023 – The Milan Prosecutor’s Office has requested a new adjournment of judgment for Alberto Genovese, the former Bocconi student, a brilliant web entrepreneur already sentenced to 6 years, 11 months and 10 days for sexual violence against two models.
The new request, which could lead to a second trial, concerns additional charges, including two other episodes of sexual abuse against two other young models, carried out using the same pattern, that is, with the use of cocaine. These new abuses emerged from the second phase of the investigation.
The request, made by Deputy Letizia Mannella and prosecutors Rosaria Stagnaro and Paolo Filippini, following the investigations carried out by the Mobile Squad, will result in a new hearing, if established by the judge. In addition to the abuses, there is also the accusation of obstruction of justice and possession of child pornography material.
The motion for adjournment of judgment, which will have to be evaluated by the judge, also concerns the former girlfriend Sarah Borruso (who has already been convicted), involved, according to the prosecutors, in some cases of abuse with the 46-year-old. And it also concerns Genovese’s former right-hand man, Daniele Leali, who is also charged with obstruction of justice and drug trafficking in the well-known parties at Terrazza Sentimento.
After the closure of the first phase of the investigation last July, the former “wizard” of digital start-ups, defended by lawyers Luigi Isolabella and Davide Ferrari, was questioned about the abuses. He claimed, as he had already stated in other interrogations during the investigation, that he had acted under the influence of drugs, of which he was a “slave,” and that he had never perceived any “particular dissent” from the young women who were equally “altered.”
The entrepreneur was then placed under house arrest in a luxury facility in the province of Varese to detox from cocaine. He is currently in San Vittore. The General Prosecutor’s Office had given a favorable opinion on therapeutic placement in a community: according to the Supervisory Court, however, a clinical evaluation was necessary first, due to the seriousness of the committed crime and also due to the obstacle to obtaining penitentiary benefits because of the sexual offenses.
