I vandals have unfortunately struck again last night in Erba. This morning I noticed that during the night, the entrance of the Local Police office at the Station, in Piazza Padania, was vandalized and smeared with a red substance that looks like blood,” said Eugenio Zoffili, Deputy of Erba, Leader of the League and President of the Security Commission in the municipality of Erba.
“I immediately informed the Local Police, the Carabinieri – Zoffili continues – and our Deputy Mayor with responsibility for security, Sofia Grippo, who arrived immediately on the scene. It is up to our agents and the law enforcement authorities to carry out the necessary investigations and inquiries, but what I want to emphasize is that this, like the previous acts of intimidation that have occurred in the city, will not stop us. The presence at the Station has proven to be an effective deterrent, considering the significant decrease in criminal incidents in the area: we continue to work to ensure the safety of the people of Erba and anyone passing through the city, from the city center to the outskirts.”
The comment of the Deputy Mayor
The Deputy Mayor of Erba, Sofia Grippo, confirms what happened and adds:
“I strongly condemn what happened, but I am confident that it will not take long to identify those responsible for the vandalism. There are numerous cameras in the square, all of them active and they have recorded everything. Our Local Police and the Carabinieri are already working on the images to identify the author or authors of this act of vandalism: whoever it was, in addition to facing legal and civil consequences, will obviously have to pay for the cleaning expenses.”
