SARONNO – “From Friday to today, our city has been affected by a series of adverse events caused by climate change that have hit Saronno very hard.”
This is how the video message that Mayor Augusto Airoldi shared on his political page in the last few hours begins.
“We are observing significant damage – continues the mayor – technicians have started working to assess the damage and carry out the first repairs. Damage assessments are underway and have had to start over several times due to the recurrence of phenomena. Tomorrow we hope to provide a first list of public buildings and properties affected. We have already opened a claim with the insurance company and sent a damage report to the Lombardy Region and the Prefecture.”
The mayor confirms what is now evident: “The damage is much higher than that caused by the hailstorm last year (July 26, 2022, editor’s note), which had been estimated at 550,000 euros. Many citizens are reporting damage to private property.
The mayor concludes by reminding everyone of the availability of the form to be sent to the Lombardy Region to report damage to private properties and buildings. HERE IS THE LINK WHERE YOU CAN FIND THE EMAIL FOR SENDING IT.
“I am certain that despite this time our city has been hit very hard, I am confident that by working together we will be able to make it beautiful again, even more beautiful than before.”
