Brescia – Cosenza: 75 Daspo issued by the Police Headquarters of Brescia.

The Police Headquarters of Brescia has issued 75 Daspo towards the ultras (75 in total) of Brescia Calcio who were involved in some clashes inside and outside the Rigamonti stadium on June 1st, during the play-out final between Brescia and Cosenza. It is important to remember that this match resulted in Brescia’s relegation to Serie C.

The decision to issue 75 Daspo came after reconstructing the events through the analysis of videos, following four arrests that took place in the hours after the match.

The facts: what happened
In addition to the sporting defeat, there was also a reaction from the fans, which had nothing to do with sportsmanship. The Brescia ultras launched a rain of smoke bombs in the Cosenza area towards the end of the match, when the fate of the “rondinelle” was practically sealed. This was followed by episodes of violence and damage outside the stadium. As if that wasn’t enough, about a hundred ultras, with their faces covered by scarves, invaded the field. The intervention of the riot police was extremely important to prevent the worst, as they promptly formed a human wall to prevent the ultras from proceeding beyond the playing area.

The issuance of 75 Daspo is a strong measure taken by the authorities to ensure the safety and integrity of sporting events. Daspo, which stands for “Divieto di Accedere alle Manifestazioni Sportive” (ban on accessing sporting events), is a measure that aims to prevent individuals involved in violence or disorderly conduct from attending sports events.

The ultras, who are known for their passionate support for their teams, must understand that their actions have consequences. The violence and damage caused during the Brescia – Cosenza match cannot be tolerated and must be condemned. Sporting events should be a moment of joy and celebration, not a field for violence and destruction.

It is important for all fans, regardless of their team allegiance, to come together and promote a culture of respect, fair play, and sportsmanship. The actions of a few should not tarnish the reputation of the majority of fans who attend matches to support their teams in a peaceful and respectful manner.

The issuance of 75 Daspo by the Police Headquarters of Brescia sends a strong message that such behavior will not be tolerated. It is a necessary step towards ensuring the safety and enjoyment of future sporting events. Let us hope that this measure serves as a deterrent and encourages a change in the behavior of ultras, so that we can all enjoy the beautiful game in a peaceful and respectful atmosphere.
