Busto Arsizio (Varese) – Paolo Orrigoni, the former owner of Tigros and former mayoral candidate for the Lega in Varese, has been sent to trial for a bribery and favoritism case dating back to the period between 2017 and 2018. The decision to proceed with the trial of Mister Tigros, as Orrigoni is known in the province of Varese, was made by the judge of the Busto Arsizio Court, Veronica Giacoia.

Corruption and undue inducement to give or promise money or other benefits to third parties, these are the charges brought by the public prosecutor Martina Melita against the defendants. The alleged facts date back to the period between 2017 and 2018. According to the investigators, Luca Antonini, the former head of the Urban Planning department of the Municipality of Solbiate Olona, would have requested “bribes” to facilitate urban planning procedures for various entrepreneurs who came to his office. In Orrigoni’s specific case, Antonini would have “requested” the assignment of the project for the construction of the new festival area in Solbiate to his girlfriend (who is an architect), among the works to be deducted from the “Nuovo Tigros” project to be carried out in Solbiate Olona. Today, the judge’s decision: Orrigoni will face trial. Orrigoni himself is also on trial in Milan for similar charges related to the investigation of the “Mensa dei Poveri” (Poor People’s Canteen).
