SARONNO – “Finally! Thank you all for this return and also to ilSaronno for giving, once again, voice to our desire and right to play, which must be stronger than vandalism and bureaucracy!” This is the message that arrived in the newsroom in the last few hours regarding the repair of the swing in via Leonardo da Vinci in the Matteotti neighborhood.
The swing had a troubled summer. At the beginning of the season, it was damaged by an act of vandalism and the Administration explained to the families in the neighborhood that the swing could not be repaired before two months. There was great indignation among the residents of the neighborhood because it would have meant leaving the children without a swing for the entire summer. So, thanks to the Lions, not only a second inclusive swing was installed in the park in via Monte Santo but also a very quick repair was carried out.
Unfortunately, at the end of July, a new act of vandalism knocked down the swing, with the safety straps thrown onto a branch during the night by a group of boys. Once again, the neighborhood mobilized: a resident recovered the straps and started a new negotiation made up of reminders and reports, but in the end, the swing was repaired.
“We also applaud the solution that was implemented, which should minimize the problems of further damage. After all, the initial solution proposed by the Municipality, that is, to have a family keep the straps, would have made the park less usable. Instead, it is finally available to everyone”.
