Elisa Conzadori, 34 years old. Maleo, October 11, 2023 – Elisa Conzadori was 34 years old when, on August 15, 2020, while driving back from work, she was hit and killed by a passing train at the level crossing on Via Case Campagna in Maleo, in the province of Lodi. Now, over three years after that tragedy, despite five witnesses stating that they saw the barrier raised that morning, the judge of the court of Lodi has accepted the request for dismissal made by the prosecutor’s office in recent months. No new investigations have been ordered.

The decision was communicated this afternoon to the victim’s family, who live in Pizzighettone, in the province of Cremona. No comment has been made by either the relatives or the lawyers who represented them in the long battle “for justice”: they have not hidden their bitterness but reserve the right to make statements once they have read and analyzed the contents of the ruling. Certainly, in the request for dismissal filed last March, the prosecutor’s office had attributed the incident to a presumed reckless maneuver carried out by Conzadori herself.

The woman, shortly after 11 am on Ferragosto, behind the wheel of her Citroen C1, returning from work and heading to Pizzighettone, was hit by a train. More than one witness – two of whom were found by the defense even in recent weeks – had reported seeing the barrier rise, indicating the ‘green light’. A malfunction of the barrier that, however, Rfi has always denied.
