SARONNO – Powder yellow all over Saronno, what is happening? Many citizens are asking themselves this question, and since last weekend it has been a growing concern. The dust covers parked cars on the streets, accumulates on balconies and railings, on the edge of the roads, and in some areas there is also a lot of it on the sidewalks, so those who walk or ride a bike leave footprints. This is the case, for example, in the tree-lined Via Manzoni, but the yellow color is almost everywhere in the streets of Saronno and even in the surrounding towns.
So, what is the reason for this phenomenon? It is pollen from cedar trees or plants from the same family, which also bloom during this period. The gusts of wind that characterized the Sunday have spread the pollen everywhere. No need to worry: it is not the kind of pollen that causes allergies, or at least this type of problem is very limited. For now, all we can do is wait: the rain expected this weekend should bring the streets and sidewalks back to their original color.
