Crema, 27 ottobre 2023 – “Michele is about to come home.” These are the words of his grandmother, who is waiting for Michele Cavallotti, 22 years old, to return to Crema. He died in the crash of his plane in Oregon, in Newberg, on October 3 while instructing two students. The young man’s parents are still in the United States, taking care of the final procedures to return to Crema, where the funeral and burial will take place. In the meantime, the body has been cremated.
“His parents had to pay a fee of 350 dollars to see their son one last time,” confirms the grandmother. “After that, they decided to have the cremation done in the US because it should be easier to return to Italy.” Giorgio and Ilenia Cavallotti have not yet purchased their return ticket because they want to be sure of the date when they will have the ashes available, but it seems certain that it will be next week, one month after the tragedy.
Emily Hurd’s condition continues to improve miraculously after surviving the fall. The 22-year-old girl told the parents of the boy that she was saved because she was in the back of the plane and thanks to a maneuver by Michele. She also testified that Barrett Bevacqua was at the controls when the plane stalled and that Michele did everything he could to recover, but without success.
