SARONNO – “After what happened over the weekend, I express my total disappointment with this administration and how they have dealt with the security issue in the city where I have lived for over 48 years.” This is how Paolo Bocedi, a resident of Saronno, president of the association Sos Italia Libera and member of the security commission of Saronno, begins when commenting on the three break-ins that occurred on Friday night in the heart of Saronno. “A mayor who is responsible for security must know how to act decisively and targeted with urgent measures, respecting legality, in order to prevent serious dangers that threaten the safety of their citizens and urban security.”
And he adds: “I am the vice president of the security commission, which is useless since its creation over two years ago, it has never been convened by the mayor despite the appeals of President Giuseppe Doninelli and myself. This says a lot about the respect for the people in charge of these issues, even in Lombardy, like myself, who weekly deals with the problem of usury, racketeering and organized crime with prefects, police chiefs and law enforcement. Soon there will be a memorandum of understanding with Lonate Pozzolo and Uboldo, as already done in many other cities in Lombardy, regarding the problem that affects our territory and the safety of citizens.”
Bocedi recalls how he himself has become a victim of incidents that have occurred in the city: “As many know, I, like many other citizens who no longer feel safe, have personally been affected by the attack of a drug addict against Liliana (my wife) at the Saronno station, and then later the theft in my home by several criminals who were locked in the bedroom and ransacked all our memories.”
